FAQs
Can a mini PC replace a tower PC?
For most people, yes. Today’s flagship mobile processors, such as the AMD Ryzen™ AI 9 HX 470 and Intel® Core™ Ultra 9 185H, deliver desktop-class performance for office work, creative software and multitasking in a unit that fits in the palm of your hand. If your old tower can’t run Windows 11, a mini PC with Windows 11 Pro pre-installed is a straightforward upgrade. A full-size tower still makes sense if you need a high-end graphics card or lots of internal drive bays.
Are mini PCs any good for gaming?
Yes, for a lot of games. The AMD Radeon™ 890M graphics in the AX9 Max handle popular titles such as EA Sports FC, Fortnite and Rocket League smoothly at 1080p, and play many recent AAA games at 1080p with lower settings and AMD FSR upscaling. Xbox Cloud Gaming and GeForce NOW also run brilliantly. If you want maximum settings at 1440p or 4K, a gaming PC with a dedicated graphics card is still the better choice.
Is a mini PC good for working from home?
It’s one of the best setups for it. A mini PC tucks behind a monitor or under a desk, so it suits a spare room, box room or kitchen-table setup. Our current models connect up to four displays through two HDMI and two USB4 ports, run Windows 11 Pro for business tools such as BitLocker and Remote Desktop, and offer Wi-Fi 7 plus 2.5Gb Ethernet for stable video calls.

How much electricity does a mini PC use?
Far less than a traditional tower. A VZMORE mini PC typically draws around 20–40W during everyday work, with the processor peaking at 80W under the heaviest loads, whereas a desktop tower with a dedicated graphics card can pull several hundred watts. At the current Ofgem price cap of roughly 26p per kWh, an eight-hour working day at 35W uses about 0.28 kWh — around 7p of electricity. It also means less heat and less fan noise in a small home office.
Are mini PCs noisy?
They don’t have to be. Noise usually comes from a small fan spinning hard to cool a crowded chassis. VZMORE’s V-Cooling™ architecture pairs a vapour chamber with 360° bottom air intake, a vertical airflow channel and intelligent fan control, so the fans stay calm during everyday work. In lab testing, the AX9 Max and iX9 Max sustained 65W of processor power with the top cover staying around 35°C.
See Vapour Chamber vs Heat Pipe for how the cooling works, or why some mini PCs get loud.
